The Projekt "Salt Routes" as a project idea was established by us many years ago, and has been developed over time into its current and mature state as "EcoMuseum Hansische Salzstraße". In the past two years we have prepared the start of this ambitious and complex institution, making a wide range of contacts.

This truly complete and groundbreaking project really can take the definition of an EcoMuseum to the next level, while staying true to its concept. It will combine regional cultural heritage, preservation of historic sites and development of local/regional identity by providing knowledge, experiences and a locally rooted cultural tourism of quality.

In a holistic approach we will bring to life the historic trade route on its various tracks with integrated measures, creating a network of sites, well times events and activities.
Key measures at the beginning will be the listing, preservation and accessibility to known, forgotten and threatened relicts, attractions and the connection of local and regional partners sharing the theme.
An anchor event, a virtual as well as physical infrastructure for accessibility will present the EcoMuseum region between Lüneburg and Lübeck, by water including Ilmenau and Elbe, Schaale and Strecksitz, as well as over land, in a complete and interregional experience.
Public, private, business and non-profit partners will be involved with their offerings and all-year content, inviting public communities to be a vital part of the EcoMuseum
